Personification: This poetic device is used illustrate what a sunset would look like, using human traits. That is because the theme of the poem is those two topics. It also relates well to the theme, since the entire poem is describing those two topics, so it gives you a very distinct image, and feeling in your mind. These words also illustrate the feeling/mood that you get in when you picture them. Imagery: The two topic nouns are used as imagery because it is very easy to picture a sun rising and setting. Which makes it part of the rhyme scheme, even though diamante poems don’t have to rhyme. The way diamante poems are organized, one is directly under the under one. This is because when you read it, you realize the rhymed parts individually. Rhyming: The author rhymed two words from opposite parts of the poem to show their similarities and differences at the same time.
